This week, we will (again) be focusing on value. We will be creating value portraits. \ Value in Art from ksumatarted This week, students are beginning a new unit about utilizing different methods of art-making to create different feelings/meanings/interests in Art. Students are focusing on drawing from observation this week. You can watch this artist speed draw an apple from observation below. Guys.

Uploading Images to your Website 1. login to your weebly by going http://students.weebly.com 2. click on "edit site" 3. Click on the "My Art" tab 4. Drag over the gallery element from the left-hand side 5. Click on the gallery that now appears on your page 6. Click on "upload images from your computer" 7. go to "STUdrive," "handouts", "zschaber" and then "VA COMP" 8. Choose the "12.01.14" folder 9. Choose the images that are yours and click "ok" 10. Your images should appear on your page Common Assessment #1 Pablo-Picasso Inspired Artwork PART I Answer these questions in complete sentences in a Word document: 1. Who is the influencing artist and why was/is their work important (3-5 sentences)? 2. What is similar about your work and the artist's work? What is different? (2-5 sentences; consider style, media -what you/Picasso made the art with-, subject matter, purpose, and outside influence). 3. Do you think the artist would have liked your work? Why or why not? Login to your website 2. click on "common assessments" 3. drag over a title and type in "Common Assessment #1) 4. upload a picture of your Picasso-inspired artwork 5. upload a copy of PART II (it could be an image or a file Common Assessment #2 Critiquing a Peer's Artwork PART I Visit your classmate's portfolios on the right-hand side of this page. Find an artwork a peer has created that speaks to you in some manner. Right-click and save this image to your student drive. Remember to label the image with the original artist's name. PART II Download the Art Criticism Template under this text. It should open in PowerPoint. Go through the directions and answer all of the questions. You will need to insert the copy of peer's artwork from Part I. Save the PowerPoint to your PART III 1. Login to your website 2. click on "common assessments" 3. drag over a title and type in "Common Assessment #2 4. drag over the element called "file" 5. Click on "click here to upload file" 6. Click on the blue "upload new file" 7. Click on "upload file from my computer" 8. Go and find your file (it should be in your student drive)
