This week, we are learning about artist John James Audubon. . .And, we are learning to draw realistically. You can learn more about what we are doing this week in the PPTs below. Today, we are continuing our animation exploration and you have two choices:
1. you can continue to make and share (via Edmodo) CRCT animations using either http://www.benettonplay.com/toys/flipbookdeluxe/guest.php or http://www.abcya.com/animate.htm 2. you can go to GoAnimate and try out making your own, much-larger animation. Our next project will use GoAnimate, and I want you to have the opportunity to try it out first. 3. you can go to Voki, and try out making your own Voki. Our next project will use Voki, and I want you to have the opportunity to try it out first. Today, you are going to make animations to get everyone pumped and excited for the CRCT. These animations will play during the CRCT pep rally. . .So, they gotta look awesome.
Choose which animation site to use: 1. http://www.benettonplay.com/toys/flipbookdeluxe/guest.php 2. http://www.abcya.com/animate.htm 3. make an animation (or 2, or 3!) about the CRCT 4. Save your animation Saving your animation on the bennettonplay site: -click on "save and publish" -follow the directions to publish (fill out the forms; you need an email" -when you see your animation, right click and choose "save as" and save it to your student drive Saving your animation on the abcya site: -click on the orange "export as gif" button -choose "full" and click "continue" -wait until the "save" button appears, and click on "save" -save the file to your student drive (give it a name you will remember) 5. Upload your animation to Edmodo: -go to edmodo.com -login or create an account -the group code is j9ie6a -in the "type your note" box type in something like, "this is my animation" -click on the icon that looks like a piece of paper -go and find your animation file and click "ok" -on the edmodo page, click on ok -you have turned in your animation! 6. If you have made 3 animations, you can go to any of the sites listed on the right-hand side of this page for enrichment. :) Let's get animated! Today, I want you to understand that animation, at the core, is a series of still images that, when put in sequence, appear to move. Today, you are going to "try out" making a stop-motion animation (that is the basis of flipbooks). Your animation can be about anything (that is school appropriate) When you are done, login to Edmodo and upload your animation. The Chattahoochee Riverkeeper is an organization aimed at protecting the Chattahoochee River and the environment surrounding the Chattahoochee River. The Chattahoochee Riverkeeper is hosting a a TShirt Design Contest. Your TShirt Must: 1. Be unique! 2. Be about at least one of these topics (or something related to the Chattahoochee River): -Having enough drinking water -Fishing or Kayaking -Stopping Pollution 3. Appeal to all ages of people, appeal to boys and girls 4. Be appropriate for school 5. Have the "dark aqua" color for a background (don't worry, I used this color on the template!) Getting Started: 1. Come up with an idea and/or a slogan for your TShirt (you may want to sketch it out!) 2. Look at the gallery below, and right-click and save any images you think you will need 3. If you need images that aren't in the gallery, visit OpenClipArt 4. Do not use any images from Google unless you talk to Ms. Z. (they can't be copyrighted!) 5. Go to Pixlr.com 6. Click on the Butterfly 7. Choose "Open Image from Computer" 8. Go to "Studrive," "Handouts," "Johnson," and "Chattahoochee TShirt" and choose "00Chattachooche Tshirt Template" 9. The template should be open in Pixlr; it has a dark aqua background (you cannot change the background!) 10. Go to "layer" and then "open image as layer" to open your clip art 11. Use the Text tool to add your slogan (if you have one) 12. Use the other tools as needed 13. Save 14. Turn in on Edmodo 1. Brainstorm and "invent" your own cereal. This cereal could be something silly (like Kryptonite Krunch made of 100% Corruption), or it could be based on a pop-culture celebrity (think 2 Grainz and Frosted Drakes) 2. Sketch out your basic design on scratch paper. Use this illustration below to guide you. 3. Assemble ALL of the images you will need to make your box. You can look through the gallery below and right-click and save any of the images to your student drive. Consider if you need these items: - a bowl of cereal? - pictures of food (is it apple flavored? etc. etc.) - a picture of a celebrity? - pictures of an item (if you cereal is made of cookies, then you need pictures of cookies) 4. If you need an image that is not in our gallery, go to Open Clipart to download copyright-free images.
5. You can only search Google Images for pictures of celebrities. . . OR, if you ask Ms. Z. 6. Go to Pixlr.com 7. Click on the butterfly 8. Choose "open image from computer" 9. Go to "computer" "studrive" "handouts" "johnson" "cereal box design" and choose "cereal box design template" 10. The template should open in Pixlr 11. Go to "layer" and choose "open image as ruler" 12. go to your lunch number drive and find a picture you need for your cereal box design and choose it 13. You picture should appear on the template in pixlr 14. Go to "edit" and choose "free transform" to resize the image 15. Use the tools in the toolbox to edit your image 16. repeat steps 11-15 to add all of the needed pictures to pixlr 17. Use the text tool from the tool box to add text (the icon is an "A") 18. Save often 19. Once done, turn your work in on our class Edmodo. This week, we are learning more about graphic design and will be making our own cereal box covers.
